Paddle Steamer Waverley on course for successful Warrenpoint visit
For two days only Waverley is returning to Warrenpoint in response to the demand witnessed last year when she made her first ever sailing from the port.
Paul Semple, General Manager for Waverley, commented, “Once again we have seen fantastic support for Waverley’s visit to Warrenpoint with only a handful of tickets remaining for the evening cruise on Tuesday, May 28. Tickets have also been selling well for the sailing from Warrenpoint to cruise Carlingford Lough and Dundrum Bay to St John’s Point. The cruise on Wednesday, May 29 is in partnership with the Newry Maritime Association and I am delighted that so many locals are keen to step aboard Waverley.”

I am delighted that Warrenpoint can welcome Waverley again this year in what will be a fantastic couple of trips as we steam down Carlingford Lough and along the coastline.”
This year, Paddle Steamer Waverley is celebrating the 50th anniversary of being part of the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society since being gifted for £1 - and will visit up to 70 ports and piers across the UK, including Warrenpoint. The historic steamship has also been given the prestigious status of National Flagship of the Year 2024 by National Historic Ships UK.
Once aboard, passengers can visit the engine room and savour the sight, sound and armour of a real steamship - hear the telegraph ring and watch the engine start to move. The paddles can be seen turning through the portholes!
