Dromintee GAC set to host The Henry McCrink Charity Challenge this Saturday
Dromintee GAC will host The Henry McCrink Charity Challenge this Saturday, 23rd May, with a full day of sport, music and community events planned in memory of Henry McCrink.
The event, organised by Henry’s family, friends and the wider Dromintee community, will raise funds for Friends of the Cancer Centre and the NI Blood Transfusion Service — two causes close to Henry and his family throughout his illness.

The day begins at 2pm with a large-scale Minor Boys & Girls 7-a-side tournament, featuring clubs from across Ulster and beyond including Dromintee, Kilmacud, Castleblayney, Middletown, Dungloe, Naomh Martin, Mullaghbawn and Carrickmacross.
A full evening's entertainment programme will then take place across both the club bar and marquee, with live music throughout the night from performers including Who’s Eddie, Tom O’Rourke, Fáinne, Kieran Larkin and Joe Kenny.
The event follows two hugely successful lead-in fundraisers over recent weeks — a Charity Pool Challenge and Golf Classic — reflecting Henry’s lifelong love of sport and community.
Speaking ahead of the event, Henry’s wife Lisa thanked everyone involved in organising and supporting the fundraiser: “The support shown to our family throughout all of this has been incredible. From volunteers and local businesses to clubs, schools, neighbours and friends — the kindness people have shown us has meant more than we can ever put into words.”
A charity auction hosted by the BBC’s Connor Phillips will also take place on the evening, with a wide range of prizes and experiences generously donated by local businesses and supporters.
Organisers are encouraging the wider community to come along, support the event and help raise vital funds for two important charities.
