Leo Murphy Cup Final: Fermanagh 1-5 Down 1-6

Down U20s travelled to Brewster Park on Monday evening and left with the Leo Murphy Cup in tow.

The competition was contested between Down, Fermanagh and Antrim – the three counties who failed to reach the quarter-finals of the Ulster Championship.

Down held a 0-5 to 0-3 lead at half-time, which they pushed out to a five-point lead when Nathan Rodgers scored a superb goal early in the second half.

Fermanagh weren’t going to go away easily however, and when Sean Conlon scored midway through the half it was game on.

However, Down’s Cormac O’Reilly kicked what proved to be the winning score, and Down held on for the win.
