The Madden man hasn’t been a regular for Armagh this season, but he got his chance on Sunday and took it with both hands, putting in a superb showing as the Orchard County defeated Derry by 11 points.
It has been a difficult two years for Grimley on and off the field, as he suffered a broken neck in 2022, and lost his brother Paddy and sister-in-law Ciera in a tragic road traffic accident last year.

“It was a long enough road back,” he said.
“I’m delighted to be back; I have been pushing hard in training. The competition for places is fierce, so it’s hard to slip in and when you do slip in you want to take your opportunity, because there are some top class lads there on the bench who aren’t even getting game time.
“The way we see it is, you come on, you do your job and that’s what it’s about. But it’s good to get the minutes and it’s good to get the win.”
