With so many superb performers, this wasn’t an easy list to make but we have narrowed it down to four! Who do you think is most worthy of the honour: Armagh Player of the Year 2024?

Aaron McKay

Aaron McKay was arguably Armagh's most consistent player of the year across the League and Championship.

With a string of impressive displays at full back, he would be on this list for his defensive exploits alone.

However, the icing on the cake for McKay came in the All-Ireland final, as he hit the net for the first time in his Armagh career and that goal proved crucial as Armagh won the Sam Maguire.

Barry McCambridge

Barry McCambridge got better and better as the season went on and saved his best displays for the biggest days.

He showed what he can defensively with impressive man-marking jobs on marquee forwards Shane McGuigan, Shane Walsh and David Clifford.

In attack, he scored a combined 2-3 in the All-Ireland quarter-final, semi-final and final. His goal against Kerry was the turning point in that win.

Rian O'Neill

Rian O'Neill didn't get much game-time in the league, but when it came to the Championship, he once again showed his quality.

O'Neill was superb against Down in the Ulster Championship and against Derry and Galway in the groups, but his stand-out display came against Kerry in the Semi-final where he kicked one of the scores of the year in attack, and claimed the ball on his own goal-line in the dying seconds in defence.

He followed that up with a solid display in the final, kicking a peach of a score from the right wing.

Conor Turbitt

Conort Turbitt was Armagh's top scorer of both the League and the Championship, scoring a whopping 5-54 (69) – 27 points more than the second highest scorer.

Turbitt's quiet All-Ireland final shouldn't take away from the outstanding year he had on the whole, as 2024 was the year that Turbitt became the marquee forward everyone in Armagh knew he could become.

That was most evident in their Semi-final win over Kerry, when his points in extra-time helped get Armagh over the line and into their first All-Ireland final since 2005.

Honourable mentions

Our original list included seven players, so this trio just missed the cut: Oisin Conaty, Niall Grimley and Blaine Hughes.
