Mullaghbawn will be confident going into this year’s Championship having won the Division 1B title, says centre-half back Fergal O’Brien.

The south Armagh men were low on confidence this time last year having been relegated from Division 1A, but with a title under their belts, O’Brien says that they will have a spring in their step heading into a group which contains Armagh Harps, Dromintee and Ballymacnab.

“Definitely. We're a young enough team, so the league win will do us the world of good,” he said.

“It gives us a bit of confidence going into the Championship, when last year we were lacking it a bit. After getting relegated, it wasn't really a good year for us, so hopefully winning the title will do us a bit of good.

“Hopefully we can pick up a few wins and get a bit of a run going. Experience mightn't be on our side, but we'll give it a go.”

They begin their campaign at home to Armagh Harps on Sunday, with throw-in at 6.30pm.
