Gr-eight win for Newry City U11s
Newry City AFC U11s 8-1 Hillsborough Boys
Newry kicked off the New Year in fine fashion with a strong win over a good Hillsborough side.
Straight from the whistle, the boys were strong in possession and showed a great level of passing play. This would eventually lead to Newry opening the scoring with an easy finish from Luke Dinsmore.
The lads went on to dominate the first half with an excellent strike from Harry Berry, a slick finish from Riley Dos Reis and a bit of magic from Corey Rooney.
Half-time: 4-0 to Newry.
There was a slight setback in the first half with a goal from Hillsborough after a great save from Ryan Gallagher. This would follow with more pressure from the reds but some great defending from Conn McGivern and Daniel Dosajev meant Newry could push on.
Push on they did, with four more goals coming, two of which coming from a determined Liam Bryson after some skilful play from midfielders Jude Hegarty and Leo Kehoe.
