Brave Thomas Davis fightback falls short in final four defeat
Thomas Davis’ Junior Championship campaign came to an end at the Semi-final stage on Monday evening, as they lost 2-12 to 1-11 against Clann Eireann II at The BOX-IT Athletic Grounds.

Hide AdThe Corrinshego side will have their fair share of regrets, as they kicked 11 wides, and had two shots dropped short. They also conceded two sloppy first half goals, which had them trailing by eight points at half-time.
Clann Eireann II were the more clinical of the two teams and Rogan McVeigh, whose well placed right footed shot nestled in the top corner on eight minutes raised the first green flag of the game.
Then, Johnny Torode’s palmed goal five minutes before half-time had Thomas Davis in serious trouble, trailing 2-6 to 0-4 at the break.

Hide AdHowever, they didn’t give up, and buoyed by inspiring performances from Ryan Courtney – who found the net on 38 minutes – Jordan King, and David Murphy, they took the fight to the Lurgan side by scoring 1-4 unanswered at the start of the second period.
But Clann Eireann gained a second wind in the final quarter, and with Man of the Match James French notching some crucial scores, they rallied and saw out a four-point win.
