Workers are seen spilling out of the shipyard after a hard shift, walkers are pictured enjoying the sea air on a picturesque promenade, and 1920s-style racing cars are shown hurtling round a corner as spectators cheer on the drivers from balconies and shop windows.
These are just some of the atmospheric scenes from around what is now Northern Ireland during the early 1900s depicted in this retro photo gallery.
The fascinating images take us from the busy streets of Belfast to the pretty towns and villages dotted along the coastline, including Bangor, Cushendall, Portrush and Warrenpoint.
Most of these nostalgic pictures are in black and white, but a handful bring the past back to life in vibrant colour.
Much has changed in the century since these photos were taken, with many of the shops, pubs, restaurants and other businesses having long since closed.
But some of the landmarks depicted remain standing all these years later, like the Albert Memorial Clock in Belfast.
What do you think of how the streets shown have changed over the last century? Are there any lost buildings or businesses pictured that you remember fondly?
