Kimmins announces £250,000 road improvement scheme for Ardmore Road


The resurfacing scheme will involve the asphalt resurfacing for 0.65 kilometres of the Ardmore Road on the outskirts of Newry, commencing from its junction with A28 Belfast Road to a point 650 metres along Ardmore Road.
The Infrastructure Minister said: “This is a substantial investment for the Newry area which will deliver significant benefits for local businesses, residents and road users.

To facilitate the safe delivery of the scheme it will be necessary to implement a daily Monday to Friday road closure from Monday 16 June – Friday 4 July 2025, 08:00 – 18:00 each day.
The Department has programmed the work operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience however, while steps have been taken to accommodate local access road users should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the vicinity of the works and are asked to comply with all temporary traffic restrictions. During the works local access will be facilitated.
