Funeral to be held for Lorcán Branagan on Monday


Lorcán, who was 26, had travelled to Sydney in November and had been due to travel home in the coming weeks.
He was reported missing on Sunday, March 24. His body was recovered from water the next day.

Hide AdA memorial service has already been held in Australia, where mourners were told that Lorcán had “touched the lives of so many people”.
A funeral notice said that Lorcán was the “dearly loved son of Tony and Terri and much loved brother of Pádraig, the late Peárce, Caitlín, her partner Lorcan, uncle of baby Ríona and boyfriend of Shona”.
His remains will be reposing at his home until removal on Monday, April 8 at 12.45pm for 2pm Requiem Mass in St. John’s Church Ballymaghery, Hilltown. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
Mourners are asked to note that there will be a one way system in operation entering from the Castlewellan Road with parking along the roadside.
The notice added that Lorcán’s passing is “deeply regretted by his sorrowing daddy, mummy, brother, sister, niece, girlfriend and entire family circle. May his gentle soul rest in peace.”
