Anyone visiting Bumper’s Supermarket in Burren recently might have noticed that it was a bit quieter than usual!

Nobody had had their tongue caught - it was all for a good cause.

Joanne Magee raised £5.328 by dressing up and staying as quiet as a mouse for 12 hours in her workplace.

The owner/manager, Paula Cunningham, said: “It was a fantastic event and enjoyed by all the customers who tried everything to get Joanne to break her silence.”

Joanne then held a street collection and raised a further £2,353.10, making a total of £7,681.10.

She presented a cheque to Sarah Herron, Community Fundraiser for N.I. Chest, Heart and Stroke.
