Funeral details announced for Kilkeel murder victim Bobbie McKee

Mr McKee was killed at his Newcastle Road home on March 21.
His wife Yvonne is reported to have suffered serious head injuries during the same incident and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Hide AdMr McKee was a brother of former MLA Harold McKee, who described Bobbie as a “kind-hearted brother” who was inseparable from his wife.
Colin William James McKee (25) of Canal Street in Newry, who is understood to be Mr McKee’s son, appeared before the city’s magistrates’ court on March 25.
The charges of the murder of Mr McKee and attempted murder of Mrs McKee between March 19th, 2024, and March 21st, 2024, were read to him in court.
McKee responded “yeah” when asked if he understood the charges.

Hide AdA detective constable told the court that they believed they could connect the accused to the charges.
No bail application was made and he was remanded into custody to appear back in court on April 17.
A notice on the Funeral Times website describes Bobbie McKee as a “devoted and much loved husband of Yvonne. Much loved father of Richard, devoted father in law of Leah and loving grandfather to Eli and Zach.
"Faithful and much-loved son of Amelia and the late Jack, loving brother of Isobel, Sylvia, Harold and Janice. Dear brother in law and uncle.”

Hide AdMr McKee was also a well-respected character within the south Down area and was a member of the Loyal Orders and of Mourne Presbyterian Church.
The funeral service will take place on Friday at 2pm in Mourne Presbyterian Church, Kilkeel.
