Southern Trust milestone on the way to Encompass go-live

The Southern Health and Social Care Trust is preparing for the implementation of ‘Encompass’ on May 8, 2025.

With less than three months to go, the Trust recently held its 90 Day Go-Live Readiness Assessment (GLRA) event on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

This serves as another critical milestone in ensuring the smooth implementation of encompass and marks the third GLRA event held to date.

This assessment focused on reviewing the readiness of key processes, systems, and teams, identifying potential risks, and confirming that all technical and operational requirements are met prior to go-live.

The GLRA had representatives from Epic, regional encompass, Digital Health Care Northern Ireland (DHCNI) and other Trusts colleagues attending both in person and virtually.

A spokesperson said: “This is a pivotal moment for the Southern Trust journey, with a tremendous amount of work having been done to date by teams right across the organisation. The dedication and hard work have been instrumental in getting the Trust to this point.

“From technical preparations to training, and testing to system configuration, every step has been carefully planned and executed. The commitment and collaboration across departments have been truly inspiring.

“As the Trust moves closer to encompass go-live, it’s all about maintaining this momentum, refining processes, and ensuring the organisation is fully prepared for a smooth transition.

“The road ahead will be challenging, but with the incredible effort already shown by all staff, we are confident that we are on track to deliver a successful go-live. We will continue to work together, support one another, and keep our eyes on the end goal.”
