‘All healthcare staff deserve unconditional safety’: Kimmins

The Chairperson of the Assembly Health Committee made her comments after reports that international healthcare workers were considering leaving the north because they felt unsafe.

The MLA said, “There is no place for racism, hatred, discrimination and intimidation anywhere in our society.

“Every nurse deserves unconditional safety. Critical care services will collapse without our international nursing and healthcare staff.”

The Sinn Féin elected representative concluded, “I appeal to everyone to reaffirm our commitment to making our ethnic minority community and indeed all our people feel welcome, safe and respected in our society and to recognise the contribution they make to our society”.
