Local employers across the Newry, Mourne and Down District are invited to promote their current vacancies at the upcoming Newry, Mourne and Down Job Fair, taking place on Thursday, 19 June at the Canal Court Hotel, Newry.

The event is hosted by the Newry, Mourne and Down Labour Market Partnership in collaboration with Cross Border Partnership Employment Services. Labour Market Partnerships, which create targeted employment action plans for council areas, are funded by the Department for Communities and allow for collaboration at local and regional level to support people towards and into work.

Now in its fourth year, the Job Fair offers a valuable platform for employers to connect directly with local jobseekers, from those starting out, to individuals looking to change or progress in their careers. Businesses will have the chance to showcase real-time job opportunities and meet potential candidates face-to-face.

Council Chairperson, Cllr Pete Byrne said, “This event presents a fantastic opportunity for local employers to connect with the talented workforce within our district. At a time when labour markets are tight and demand for staff is high, the Job Fair allows businesses to promote vacancies and engage directly with potential employees. With previous years’ exhibition space quickly filled, we encourage employers to register early to secure their place and take advantage of this unique recruitment opportunity."

Exhibiting at the event is free of charge and employers interested in participating can register at https://consultations.nidirect.gov.uk/dfc/nmddc-job-fair-2025-registration/

The Job Fair will run from 10am to 1pm on Thursday, June 19 at the Canal Court Hotel, Newry.
