Belleek confident and ready to go

The celebrations after Belleek won the Junior County title were second to none at the Athletic Grounds a few weeks ago, but the dust has settled as they prepare for a quarter-final Ulster clash with Monaghan side Sean McDermotts.
“We took a couple of days off and we didn’t meet again until the Friday evening. We got everyone back together and had a bit of a chat and outlined the plans for the preparation for the Ulster campaign and then we got back going again on the Tuesday night and we’ve been going well ever since which is brilliant,” said Manager Garreth Thornton when he spoke to the Reporter last week.
“There’s a great atmosphere and a good buzz about the camp which is good to see.”
The waiting game Belleek had to wait until last Saturday to find out who they would play because their opponents were drawn to play in the first round of Ulster and while that was somewhat of a hindrance to preparations, Thornton says he did as much as they could by watching both sides in their respective county finals.
“We didn’t know if we’d be playing the winners of Tyrone which is Cookstown or Monaghan Sean McDermotts after we won but we’ve seen both their county finals the week after ours. I think it’s a toss of a coin.”
