Opening day blues for City on return

It was Newry’s big day. Up to the Premiership after four promotions in five seasons, playing their fellow Championship rivals from last season and a team they took seven points from, in a match that gave them the perfect opportunity to kickstart life in the top-flight with a win.
Unfortunately for City, their performance didn’t match the hype as, despite dominating possession for the most part, Darren Mullen’s side only threatened in fits and starts, would probably admit themselves that they didn’t create enough clear-cut chances throughout and, most importantly switched off at the vital moment that led to the only goal of the game.To read more subscribe to our online Newspaper
