Super win for CWC
15 May 2019
The winners have already been decided in Division 1 but after a terrific victory against First and Last, CWC still have a chance to battle it out for relegation if they win their last two games.
Gary McKeown and Jonny Quinn got them off to a winning start in Warrenpoint before Jack and Shane Rafferty squared the match. CWC held their nerve however, as Jerome White, Joe Burns, Ciaran Quinn and John Larkin won the remaining games for victory.
Madden’s had no such luck at home against Hibs B who beat them 5-3. Hibs got off to a flying start with wins in the first three of the evening for Jim Rowland, Niall McVerry and Chris Craven. Gerard O’Connell pulled one back for Madden’s but Hibs won two of the remaining four games and that was enough to secure both points.
Meanwhile, Magee’s have left themselves in a precarious situation after they were held to a home draw by Ballyholland. The visitors took the first two games of the night before the hosts fought back with wins for Gareth McEvoy and Aaron McParland to make it two apiece.
The match swung one way and then the other in the last four games and so the spoils were shared.
The other Division 1 fixture played on Friday saw Carrickruppen get the better of league winners Dromintee, who have nothing to prove at this stage. Alan Roker, Noel Rowntree, Alan McArdle and Lammy King made it 4-0 to Cruppen before Dromintee pulled one back. Kevin McCann got ‘Cruppen
